How Lune handles your information
Lune is a period and cycle tracking application published by CKA Systems, an independent software business based in England, United Kingdom. In this policy, "Lune", "we", "us" and "our" refer to CKA Systems and the Lune application.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Lune Android application, contact CKA Systems for support, or purchase Lune Premium through Google Play. It does not replace the privacy terms of Google Play, Android, your device manufacturer, your email provider, or any storage or sharing service you choose to use.
Lune lets you enter and calculate information that may relate to health and menstrual cycles. Depending on how you use the app, this may include: period start and end dates, flow information and cycle history; symptoms, moods, notes and other daily logs; cycle preferences, prediction settings and estimated period, fertile-window or ovulation information; notification preferences and custom notification text; local privacy and security settings, including PIN-related settings, biometric-unlock preference, Burner PIN configuration and Stealth Mode preference; subscription-entitlement status cached locally so that Premium features can continue to work appropriately; and encrypted backup files that you deliberately create.
This information is processed locally by the app to provide the functions you request. CKA Systems cannot view, recover or remotely access your cycle records.
Lune does not require you to create an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or postal address in order to use the app. The app does not include advertising, behavioural analytics, social tracking or a CKA Systems cloud account.
We do not sell personal information.
We do not upload your cycle records, symptoms, moods, notes or predictions to CKA Systems servers.
We do not use your cycle information for advertising, profiling or marketing.
We do not access your contacts, precise location, microphone or camera as part of normal app operation.
We do not receive or store your fingerprint, face template or other biometric template.
Your Lune records are stored locally on your device in an encrypted application database. App preferences and limited operational settings are also stored locally. Lune uses device-level and application-level safeguards intended to reduce unauthorised access, including optional PIN and biometric access controls.
Android performs biometric matching. Lune receives only the result needed to allow or refuse access; it does not receive the underlying fingerprint or face data.
No security measure is perfect. You are responsible for keeping your device, Android account, PINs and backup passwords secure. Stealth Mode changes the app's launcher appearance but should not be treated as complete concealment or a substitute for device security.
If you enable reminders, Lune asks Android for notification permission and schedules notifications locally on your device. CKA Systems does not receive the content or timing of your reminders. Depending on your Android lock-screen settings, notification text may be visible to other people who can see your device. You can disable reminders or change their wording in Lune and can change notification permissions in Android settings.
Lune can create a password-protected encrypted backup file. The backup is created on your device. You choose where to save or share it using Android's file and sharing tools. CKA Systems does not receive the backup or its password.
Your backup password is not stored by CKA Systems and cannot be recovered by us.
Anyone with both the backup file and the correct password may be able to restore its contents.
A service you choose for storage or sharing may process the file under its own privacy policy.
Deleting data inside Lune does not delete copies of backup files that you previously saved elsewhere.
Restoring a backup may replace current app data. Lune presents a confirmation and preview before applying a restore.
Lune Premium purchases are processed by Google Play. Google handles payment details, billing, renewals, cancellations and applicable refunds under Google's own terms and privacy policy. Lune receives limited purchase and entitlement information needed to determine whether Premium access is active, such as the product purchased and its transaction or subscription status. CKA Systems does not receive your full card or bank details through Lune.
Lune does not send your cycle or health records to Google Play as part of subscription verification.
If you email CKA Systems for support, we will receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, device or app details, screenshots and attachments. We use this information to respond, diagnose issues, maintain service quality, prevent abuse and keep appropriate business records.
Please do not send cycle records, health information, PINs, backup passwords or full backup files unless we specifically explain why they are necessary. We will never ask for your PIN or backup password. If sensitive information is sent unnecessarily, we will minimise its use and delete it when it is no longer needed.
Most Lune cycle information never reaches CKA Systems, so we do not determine a remote purpose for or process that local information on our systems. Where we receive personal information directly, our lawful bases under UK data protection law may include:
We do not sell your information. Information received by CKA Systems may be handled by carefully selected providers that support business email, website hosting or similar operations. Google independently processes Google Play purchases, installation information and platform services. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect users or our rights, or in connection with a legitimate business reorganisation.
Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where CKA Systems controls such a transfer, we use an appropriate lawful safeguard required by UK data protection law.
Lune records remain on your device until you edit or delete them, use Delete All Data or Burner PIN, restore a backup that replaces them, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Android or a storage service may retain copies according to its own backup or retention settings.
Support communications are normally retained only as long as needed to resolve the matter and maintain reasonable business records, generally no longer than 24 months after the last substantive contact unless a longer period is required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute purposes.
You can delete local Lune data from within the app. Because CKA Systems cannot access that local data, we cannot delete or recover it remotely for you.
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of personal information held by CKA Systems, and to receive certain information in a portable format. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions.
For information stored only inside Lune, you exercise control directly through the app's edit, export, backup and deletion functions. CKA Systems cannot provide a copy of local records that it does not possess.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you believe your personal information has been handled unlawfully. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
Lune is not directed to children under 13. A person under 13 must not use Lune without the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. If you are aged 13 to 17, you should review this policy with a parent or guardian, particularly before purchasing a Premium subscription.
Lune provides estimates and pattern insights based on the information you enter. These are statistical estimates, not medical advice or a medical diagnosis. Lune does not verify pregnancy, confirm ovulation, or determine whether medical care is needed, and must not be relied upon as a method of contraception. Always seek professional medical advice for health decisions, and seek urgent medical care where your symptoms or circumstances require it.
We may update this Privacy Policy when Lune's functionality, legal requirements or data practices change. The updated policy will show a revised effective date. Material changes will be brought to users' attention through the app, the store listing or another appropriate method.
